The Highland Housing Alliance is planning a housing fair for 2009 along the lines of the events that have been successful in Finland. The competition to design innovative and sustainable houses as part of a showcase community is now open. Entries are invited from architects, developers, house builders and self builders across Europe, with the best 50 houses being built and exhibited during the fair.

The intended site for the development is Balvonie Braes near Inverness, subject to planning approval by the Scottish Executive.

Deadline: Notes of interest and plot preference by 28 February 2007
