One Planet Products, a sustainable products service, had its Parliamentary launch late last month at the House of Commons by energy minister Malcolm Wicks.

The One Planet Products Core Membership group – including some of Britain’s leading developers, housing associations and architects- aim to push One Planet Products to drive a green supply chain and help reduce the environmental impact of housing developments.

Mark Watson, executive director at One Planet Products said: “There has been a phenomenal growth in eco-products over the last few years so our job is to filter out the green-wash from the genuine. This saves time and money for our members and makes it easier for them to specify sustainable materials. The Core Member group brings considerable knowledge, expertise and real world experience to our selection and assessment process and we very pleased to have them on board”.

One Planet Products – part of a social businesses network -  is a winner of a  “Green Oscar”, at  The City of London Corporation’s Sustainable City Awards.
