The Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) – launched last year - has up to £30m available to support its new collaborative research, development and demonstration (rd&d) technology programme on distributed energy (DE), including microgeneration and CHP, unveiled on 16.
This DE programme will initially focus on the power generation and energy conversion technologies that may be used to generate heat and/or electricity local to the point of utilization, ETI says, while future DE programmes will focus on related issues, such as localised distribution networks, demand side management and intelligent metering of energy supply.
Projects are likely to involve multi-organisation consortia, including foreign industrial collaborators, with project funding in the range of £5 -10 m per project. |
