The Environment Agency has spent £114m on designing and constructing new flood defenses and maintaining existing ones in the West Midlands, environment minister Huw Irranca-Davies said in a written answer.

This includes major capital schemes constructed at Bewdley, Burton, Cannock, Cheltenham, Hereford, Kidderminster and North Littleton, which it said reduced flood risk to 8,614 properties.
