The latest quality protocol from the Environment Agency/Waste & Resources Action Programme covers tyre-derived rubber materials and aims to allow certified businesses to demonstrate their products are an alternative to virgin materials.
Purchasers and specifiers of protocol compliant tyre-derived crumb and shred will know they are procuring material from independently audited producers, says WRAP. The protocol defines when rubber ceases to be waste and no longer needs waste controls.
