Ecotricity is offering gas consumers their first chance to buy their gas from biogas sources including composting, next-generation technologies like algae or other anaerobic digestion of waste sources.

It will supply consumers with a mix of sources in the same way it does for electricity in the hope that it can build biogas production. “We're the real British gas now,” said Ecotricity founder Dale Vince.
