Two homes on a West Mercia Housing Group development in Longbridge will be built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6, the first “zero carbon” homes to be built in Birmingham by Lovell.

They will form part of a 48 home development in Thelbridge Road, with two built to Level 6, two built to Level 4 and 44 meeting Level 3.

The Level 3 and 4 homes will have solar water heating panels while the Level 6 will have photovoltaics. Rainwater harvesting will be installed in the Level 4 and 6 homes and they will also have mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, recycling waste heat from kitchens and bathrooms.
