If the new Government is to achieve its target of cutting carbon emissions across its estate by 10% in the next 12 months (SB, May 2010), it must focus on low-cost and established retrofit technologies, energy efficiency specialist Energys has argued.
“If David Cameron wishes to achieve his green goals while also upholding his commitment to cut the deficit, he must focus on retrofit technologies that are proven to save carbon at a cost-effective rate,” said Aidan Salter, managing director of Energys.
He argued that retrofit technologies, such as energy efficient light fittings, typically have short payback periods.
