Station building becomes distinctive offices
Categories for this story: Retrofit/Refurb, Design, Case Studies

Architecture firm Metropolitan Workshop has converted the Grade II-listed Great Central House in Marylebone Station into offices.

The five floor red brick building, formerly used as railway offices, had been empty for 30 years before work began for The Office Group.

Historic features have been kept and new meeting alcoves which resemble railway carriages have been built to emphasise the building’s original use, while previously empty roof space has been transformed into a garret office. The building sits in Dorset Square Conservation Area and provides 1400m₂ of office space.
