DECC energy minister Charles Hendry has welcomed the National Audit Office (NAO) report on Government funding for developing renewable energy technologies, telling Liberal Democrat MP Adrian Saunders that DECC is “currently drawing up plans to implement the recommendations in the report,” adding that “action has already been taken within the Department in response to its Capability Review, and this addresses some of the NAO's recommendations.”
In another written reply he told Conservative MP Peter Aldous that for 2008 (the latest year for which data is available) overall UK energy consumption from renewables was 2.3%.
