The first building to achieve a 90% score – and an interim “outstanding” rating – under the BREEAM Europe Commercial 2009 scheme is the Spring development in Nanterre by Bouygues Immobilier and Archon Group.
The four-storey, 35,200m² building includes social areas, a restaurant and landscaped areas – as well as basement car parking.
“This is a remarkable achievement for an exceptional building design and is a credit to the developer, the BREEAM Assessor and the rest of the project team,” said BRE Global chief executive Carol Atkinson. It features:
• Geothermal heat pumps
• Automatic mechanical ventilation with heat recovery
• Solar panels
• 6,500m² of photovoltaic panels
• Rainwater recycling.
