London Mayor Boris Johnson has been praising a large-scale retrofitting scheme for the City, in both the public and private sectors, used as a key method to improving the low-carbon economy.
London is offering 200,000 private households a free carbon ‘makeover’ as part of a new initiative programme, RE:NEW.
Public sector buildings are also offered financial structures under the scheme, guaranteeing financial and carbon savings.
A total of 42 buildings have so far undergone the makeover under RE:NEW, including Greater London Authority area police and fire stations. |
