A website to trade and exchange sustainable building materials has started on Tyneside.

Called Salvabuild, it has been set up by father and stepson team Joe Gellert and Craig Marcus.

Gellert told the Evening Chronicle: "Initially it will be salvaged materials to long-lasting items and materials that fit in with modern energy demands.

"We can have companies advertise products on our site and they can advertise as many products as they want." Salvabuild's motto is 'rescue, recycle, reinvent' and individuals and businesses can buy and sell recycled materials and innovative green technology.
