Carbon Trust part funds AECB’s Carbon Lite Programme
Categories for this story: Funding/Grants

The Carbon Trust is funding the AECB’s Carbon Lite programme under its Networks Programme, with additional funding from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Carbon Lite is an integrated programme of information, design guidance and software tools, training and feedback which encapsulates the expertise of the Association’s members in how to deliver buildings with vastly improved energy and CO2 performance, using their experience acquired both in practice here and abroad.

The core involves Three Steps to improved energy performance in buildings, which provide robust solutions to the CO2 targets at levels 4, 5 and 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. They are founded on a detailed understanding of energy use in buildings,
a whole building approach, energy-efficient construction techniques and the importance of closing the feed-back loop by monitoring building energy use post-occupancy and sharing the results with built environment professionals.
