Carmody Groake has won the RIBA competition to extend the Sheffield Showroom Cinema and workstation creative business centre.

The brief was looking for innovative spatial and social approaches to the viewing of film and new media, with sustainability a key consideration.  Six proposals were shortlisted from 60 entries; the other finalists were Prue Chiles Architects, HLM Architects, Houghton Budd Architects, Jason King Associates and SadarVuga Arhitekti + The Designers Republic.
