CABE wants BFL in planning system

The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) wants the government to enshrine its Building for
Life standard into the planning system
by 2008.

CABE, which is in discussion with DCLG via the Housing Green Paper said it wants to see the standard, based on 20 criteria of good design, become a national benchmark after its audit this year found 80 per cent of homes fail on design.
