Rockwool UK to expand
Categories for this story: Companies and Bodies

Mineral wool insulation manufacturer Rockwool UK is going ahead with a £70m expansion of its factory in Pencoed, near Bridgend, due to the rapid increase in demand for its insulation products.

The Rockwool investment is being supported by the Welsh Assembly Government and will create 1,500 jobs directly and indirectly in South Wales. It will increase the present 440-strong workforce by 25%.

The programme is expected to take 15 months to complete. Rockwool is manufactured using volcanic rock and environmentally sustainable manufacturing ensures that 50% of Rockwool by weight is made from recycled or re-used materials.
