Wakefield Metropolitan District Council is looking for a housing developer for the Girnhill Estate.  It is also seeking to establish a framework agreement with a number of developers for future regeneration projects.  Wakefield is one of the authorities invited by the Department for Communities and Local Government to consider setting up a Local Housing Company in a joint venture with English Partnerships.  Accordingly, a number of social and environmental considerations will be important in selecting developers.
