The Ministry of Defence is aiming to save 2400t/yr carbon across ten sites in the South West with the help of pulse meters installed in buildings.
£750,000 cost savings are targeted. Half hourly readings are fed into an information HQ enabling energy managers to keep the buildings within set parameters, and target energy inefficiency.
Energy efficiency across ten MOD sites in the south west of England is set to improve by up to ten per cent, creating potential annual cost savings of £750,000 and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2,400 tonnes per year.
The new system is based on a project with the Carbon Trust at RAF Kinloss. |
