EP: listed hospital to eco homes
Categories for this story: Housing

English Partnerships has announced plans to convert an old Grade II listed hospital building in Otley, near Bradford to 75 eco homes, of which 30% will be ‘affordable’.

Leeds-based Acanthus WSM Architects has been appointed and will develop eco-houses alongside the converted hospital buildings.

The main building, dining room, kitchen, old infirmary and entrance block to the hospital will be converted. The eco-homes will include sustainable drainage systems, living grass roofs and a south-facing glazed area to naturally heat and cool the living areas. The existing chimney and boiler house will be used as a bio-mass boiler, providing “green” power for the site.
